STA Nights of Lights: Tips from an Almost Local

One of the most celebrated holiday events in the Sunshine State is St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights. The annual event runs from Mid-November through the end of January and has become a holiday tradition for me over the past 5 years that I have spent Christmas in the Oldest City. The Frappécito: A Whipped Coffee Recipe Inspired by FLO

Both the Frappé and Cafecito have similar elements of being strong coffee with a touch of sweetness. I really wanted to create a beverage that payed homage to both Tarpon Springs and Miami, two Florida cities that have had an immense impact on my life and my love for coffee. For a Flohemian spin, I used Coconut Stevia Sweet Drops in my recipe.

Staycation at Crane’s Beach House, Delray

I had the pleasure of being hosted at Crane’s Beach House for a staycation that offered a full-on latitude adjustment. The property is located in Delray Beach, however Crane’s Beach House feels like a slice of the Keys got squeezed into Palm Beach County. This boutique hotel is tucked away just a block off of […]

Tiki 101: A New Villager at the Hukilau

In June, I attended the Hukilau as a new villager to Tiki Culture. It is Florida’s annual tiki convention held at the mid-century marvel, the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale. Prior to attending, I visualized a Tiki Convention as a parallel of a Parrothead Party. Growing up on the Gulf Coast, I was […]
