About the Blogger My name is Mandy Mizell, a Gulf Coast Florida native currently residing in West Palm Beach. I have been a content creator and writer for almost ten years in the fields of science education, tourism, fashion and lifestyle. My career in content creation started when I worked as a Florida public educator. It first job after getting my degree in Environmental Science from the University of South Florida. I wanted to share my passion for preserving Florida’s ecosystems with my students. I became a grant writer and received over 11 grant based awards funding Florida environmental education projects. I went on to receive sponsored travel to the Florida Keys and Australia to create content for my students focusing on coral reef conservation and climate change. As I transitioned out of teaching and entered a corporate setting in 2016, blogging became my creative outlet. I started THE GLOBAL LOCAL and brands quickly began to reach out to me as an advocate for their products. I have been a “business blogger” since 2017. After an overwhelming response to my content about Florida, I rebranded as THE FLOHEMIAN. My passion is to write about Florida’s colorful history, unique destinations, quirky culture and delicate environment. I have created longstanding brand partnerships and served as contributor to Discover the Palm Beaches and Visit Florida’s Share A Little Sunshine. My goal is to collaborate with brands that support the Flohemian Lifestyle and work as Florida travel blogger to showcase our beautifully interesting state.
