Rosemary Roundup with Tommy Bahama

To me, clothing is one of the many vehicles to an adventure. Have you ever picked up a piece in your closet and it jogs a memory of a vacation where you wore it? If you’re like me, you have a closet full of memories. This is one of the reasons why I do not promote just “Fashion” but instead, I seek to inspire Flohemian Style. I prefer to show clothes in action, and demonstrate how pieces are comfortable, durable and made for memories.

I liken myself to be a “Resortwear Aficiando” as this fashion genre is the backbone of my beachy-boho style fit for Florida. Whether I am dressing for my 9-5 or weekend FLOventures, I am always in resortwear. When it comes to the best brand to relax in, Tommy Bahama has been the signature of island style for decades. You can only imagine my excitement when Tommy Bahama at Rosemary Square reached out to me for a collaboration.

After a try on and getting styled by the amazing staff at the WPB location, I took it my new threads to the revamped Rosemary Square to embrace the live like it is one long weekend.” This upscale mixed-use development in the heart of downtown just revealed its new look in December 2019. Formerly City Place, the rebranding of Rosemary Square has breathed new life into downtown and I’m lucky enough to live within walking distance of it. Today I’m bringing you the first phase of The Rosemary Roundup:  the best things to do in Rosemary Square.

Shop at Tommy Bahama

Tommy Bahama has always been front of mind on every Gift Guide “for the man in your life.” But sorry Dudes, Tommy is not just for you anymore. It has become a favorite amongst the ladies of luxe, tropical travel. To explore Rosemary Square, I knew that I wanted to select both a day and night look. For the daytime, I got a coral linen jumpsuit fit for the balmy August afternoons in South Florida. For my nighttime look, I selected the Midnight Blooms Maxi Dress. It is made with Carmela, Tommy’s wrinkle resistant fabric is perfect for packing so you don’t have to use the sketchy hotel room iron on your vacation threads. Both pieces can easily be dressed up or down, and to finish the look I got THE MOST COMFORTABLE André Assous wedges. This designer’s shoes feel dreamy, you need to go to the store and try them on in every style and you will want them all.

Go for an InstaArt Walk

This plaza hosts an artist in residence, Sarah LaPierre, InstaKnown as @thickpaint. Her tropical oil paintings have made her well collected in the Sunshine State and her sunny personality awards her as my favorite TikTok star. Rosemary Square embraced the local art scene and is covered in color by Miami based creative team, Chalk and Brush. Terraces are brimmed with painted palms, and available retail space is disguised as InstaPerfect photo spots. A must snap spot is the fruity stairwell, and if you are not singing “Watermelon Sugar” as you are taking pictures, then you have much more self-control than I do!

Get the Local Scoop at Sloan’s Ice Cream

Established in West Palm Beach in 1999, Sloan’s Ice Cream satisfies every local’s sweet tooth. Their cream is churned in the warehouse district of WPB, but they have locations branched in South Florida, Nevada, California and the Middle East. Yes, it is internationally known! My favorite flavors fit for the Island Life are the Coconut Storm and Almond Joy. If ice cream is not your thing, they have an array of chocolates, candies and even cookies for your Florida dog.

Go for the Green at The Garden Shoppe

The Garden Shoppe is a boutique nursery is the best spot to find your new plant babies. It is a gathering space for gardening classes, tea time and also a small Thick Paint art gallery. If your green thumb needs some training, the staff will coach you for plant selection and care instructions. The Garden Shoppe also supports PB Farmyards, a nonprofit that works to create food forests in communities for sustainable, healthy living. I got a pothos from this spot about 6 months ago, and I have managed to keep it alive for a substantial amount of time. Which is something I don’t do often with plants.

Romantic Date at the RH Rooftop

The Restoration Hardware in Rosemary Square is currently the only RH in Florida with a restaurant, in fact, there are only 10 of them in the world. Whoever proposed a swanky restaurant on top of a furniture gallery may have sounded crazy, but they must have had insider knowledge to appeal to DINK’s like My Dude and I. (DINK= Dual Income, No Kids). The rooftop is iconic with drippy crystal chandeliers and RH furniture that has transitional design with a neoclassic twist. It is the ultimate spot to enjoy a sunset in downtown West Palm, however the weather was not cooperating for my visit. This had lead me to the serendipitous discovery that watching a summer evening storm through their atrium is incredible. You can leisurely linger here for a 3-course dinner, but I love it for just wine and apps with a lounge vibe.
